After much chastisement from friends and family for not having a blog, I've finally given in. My goal is to blog at least once a week so that I not only inform those friends and family members that live far away, but also this is a way for me to keep a weekly journal of events.
I suppose I'll start with what is going on in our family as of late. Leland is still plugging away at Ken Garff Honda Dowtown, where he is the Business/Finance Manager. He is coming up on 2 years in that position in January, and hopes to be promoted soon thereafter. When he's not busy at work (which isn't very often), he's playing hide n' seek with Kennedy, and having his heart melted by Isabel. He has also recently bought a hunting rifle and plans to take his first hunting trip with our Bro-in-law, Justin Brimhall in October. Leland recently started mountain biking the local trails behind our house, and has soon as Isabel lets me get away for a few hours from her, I think I'd like to start joining him.
Which brings us to me, Robin. I am still a "stay-at-homer"with our two girls (which I absolutely love!), but as of August 5th, I started teaching a few courses at the Renaissance School of Massage Therapy in Bountiful. It's only 6 hours a week (2 hours per class), and Leland is able to watch the girls while I work. It's been a challenge, but it's nice to be able to talk "adult" and keep my feet wet in the massage world.
Kennedy (2 years old) will be starting her first dance class this week, where she will be learning ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and tumbling. The class starts for 3 year olds, but they were able to squeeze her in, as she will be turning the big 3 in October. Kennedy definetely keeps me on my toes. When she's not talking a mile a minute all day long, and I mean ALL DAY LONG, she is busy with her puzzles, perusing through her books, and coloring. She is extremely smart (we don't know where she gets it from), and likes us to know it.
Sweet baby Isabel (9 months) has just started to crawl! At long last, and after a lot of coaxing, she decided to put those chubby knees to the ground and get a movin'! Personally, I think it's a defense mechanism to get away from the poking and prodding of her big sister. Isabel is such a sweet-natured baby. She always has a big smile on her face, and giggles with glee at the sight of her daddy.
So, that the Jones' right now in a nut shell. Sorry that this first entry reads like a bad Christmas card. I'm hoping that as I write more frequently, I'll get better at this whole "blog" thing.
